Today I received the first of three deliveries for my torn paper painting class. Woohoo! It is like Christmas all over again for me and my students — a big box of art supplies. Let’s open up that box.
I will be teaching a torn paper painting class next weekend, January 17-19 (2025) in Fort Thomas, KY. Class will be held at 8 North Center for the Arts next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I am thrilled that people have signed up for the class, and eager to share this wonderful technique.
In this box from Blick Art Materials, I’ve got:
- gelatin printing plates from Gel Press,
- rubber inking brayers from Speedball
- 10 x 10 inch painting panels from Blick
- Masterson palette papers
- gel medium from Liquitex

There are two more shipments to come. I am really hoping that neither of them are delayed. One shipment has all of the paint in it! Of course, I have a lot of paint at the studio, but it sure is fun to have new toys to share with my students.
