Terri Schmitt is the daughter of an industrial engineer and an artist. She has always been interested in drawing, painting and making things with her hands. She worked as a graphic designer for 20 years; then trained at the Midwest Culinary Institute in Cincinnati, to be a personal chef. Since 2013, she has dedicated her time to studying drawing and painting with some of Cincinnati’s finest artists. Her love of design is evident in the color, texture and pattern throughout her work.

Terri paints in a variety of media. Her representational pieces include close-ups of food and flowers. She works in oil and cold wax on some of these pieces, others are an intricate process of hand-painted paper used as brushstrokes on a panel and covered with resin. Her abstract paintings have a theme of interconnectivity and interaction. The movement of color, light and pattern in her paintings represents words of grace, kindness, mercy and love amplified and unfurled into the world at large.

She accepts commissions for paintings of your favorite objects and travel memories. She also works with individuals and designers to create custom paintings for special locations in peoples’ homes. Her paintings are held in private collections in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Texas. Terri resides in Northern Kentucky with her husband Gary.
